EYE EXAM
Our staff provides comprehensive eye examinations which go beyond just testing your vision. It is important to gather as much information about the health of your eyes as possible during your visit. Parts of this eye examination may include:
- Medical history evaluation
- Visual acuity tests, often using the standard eye chart
- Color blindness test
- Cover test for binocular vision or eye alignment
- Retinoscopy to determine your accurate prescription
- Refraction to test for nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia
- Slit-lamp examination to check the front and inner structures of your eyes and test for any signs of infection or disease
- Glaucoma test
- Pupil dilation
- Visual field test for peripheral, or side vision
Other tests may be recommended by Drs Fox and Hofbauer for specialized cases, however these are the most standard procedures for a fully comprehensive eye examination. These eye exams should be performed on a routine basis, in order to maintain the health of your eyes and overall well-being.
