Before the procedure, come to Dr. Hofbauer’s office for a free evaluation.  If possible, do not wear your contact lenses for three days before your visit.

After a brief exam, we can tell if you are a good candidate.

If you decide to schedule LASIK, we will perform a very extensive exam that can take up to 1½ hours.   This is necessary for you to have the best possible results from your procedure.

We typically schedule LASIK on Friday afternoons.   Dr. Hofbauer will see you in his office the following day, and you can return to work on Monday.   If you need to schedule LASIK on a different day, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

The fee for LASIK surgery includes your pre-operative evaluation, antibiotic eye drops, follow-up care, surgeon’s fee and Laser Center facility charges.

We charge more than the “discount “ laser centers because of Dr. Hofbauer’s skill and experience, and the quality of our lasers.

Dr. Hofbauer has been performing laser eye surgery for many years.  He participated in the clinical trials for laser refractive surgery for the FDA.   He will also be taking care of you during your pre-operative and post-operative visits.  The discount centers delegate this important care to non-doctors.  Dr. Hofbauer is personally involved in all aspects of your care.

We have the “top of the line” lasers for this procedure, both the Alcon LADAR Vision and Visx lasers, and Dr. Hofbauer will use the one that is best suited to your eyes.  We maintain and update these equipment to highest standards.
