Laura E. Fox, MD is a graduate of Barnard College and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.  She specializes in the treatment of glaucoma.  A diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, she is licensed to practice medicine in California and New York.  She held a fellowship at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, where she is an assistant clinical professor.  She is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology. 

  John D. Hofbauer, MD was graduated from the University of Chicago and the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University.  A specialist in diseases of the cornea, refractive surgery and the treatment of cataracts, he held a fellowship in corneal and external diseases at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, where he is now an assistant clinical professor.  A member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Hofbauer is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and holds licenses to practice in California and New York.

Dr. Fox was born in Berne, Switzerland, and raised in Los Angeles.  Dr. Hofbauer is a native of New York.  They met while residents at the Montefiore Hospital and are husband and wife in private life.  They have a daughter, Claire, born in 1983, and a son, Alexander, born in 1987.
